The composition of this photo is successful because it shows emotion in the artist. The lighting is well done, it's light on the top and gets darker at the bottom. You have to look around the whole photo get the feel of the singer. You can see the tension in his hand. His elbow is near the center but it's darker so you can not see it as well. The angle is coming from under the artist so it gives it a different feel. 

The composition of the photo is successful because the lighting is very well done. Nothing is in the very center so it makes you look all over. On the two drums you can see where the light is actually coming from but the rest of the instruments it seems like the light is coming form everywhere. It's interesting how it goes form white with the floor to black with the wall behind everything.
